Little Faid's First Stockpile

I decided to try to do some stockpiling for this patch.  I've not really been a big stockpiler in the past and, depending on how you define stockpile, some may not view what I've gathered as much of one.  But here's what I'm headed into 4.3 with:

I'm hoping to fill in the gaps before the patch hits. My goal is to get another 8 stacks of Inferno Rubies, more Embersilk, Heavy Savage Leather, and Pristine Hides. I'd also like to replace some of my Hypnotic Dust stacks with more Celestial Essences.  Also, naturally, fill out the gaps in the Ore tab with the appropriate ore and bars.

All in all I'm feeling pretty good headed into this patch, I think I should see a pretty big return on investment.

  2. Faid, you need WAY more heavenly shards, just as a note :P

  3. The only thing that's really changed on my server over time, price wise, is the price of ore. It is A LOT more expensive now than pre-4.2. However the "results" of the ore shuffling is about the same price as it always was. So in retrospect, I wish I would have stockpiled more ore for future use in the past.

  4. @Darkfriend: I'm 80% sure I recall Maelstrom Shatter is coming in this patch, thus my lack of shards. :)

  5. I'd sell the heavenly shards and but at least another 10 stacks of Maelstroms, but then again that's just me. As for the shatter .. it's coming and its taking down prices of heavenly shards and rising the prices of the Maelstroms.

Another thing worth stocking on would be volatiles, water and fire to be more precise as i take it the craftable PvP gear will probably get a overhaul and that will get the prices up as well. But if you start stocking up on volatiles then know that you will need to have the bars/cloth/leather that goes with it :)

  6. You're going to run out of Maelstroms in like...2 hours on patch day.

  7. @Atterna: I don't anticipate that being the case, I don't sell Maelstrom Crystal enchants. :)

  8. How can you not sell Maelstrom Crystal Enchants? :O

  9. Wow, that looks like a lot of gems.

I'm really looking forward to the Maelstrom Crystal shatter, but got caught short selling all mine in enchant scrolls. Profit now always wins out with me.

    Here's my gnome sized stockpile.

  10. @Xsinthis: I can sell 15 Stats to chest (2 Lesser Celestial Essences) for 350g a pop so that's where all my mats go. :P

  11. Just something I noticed:

You appear to be sore lacking in the "n Shiz" department in all of those tabs.

  12. @Glyph: Well, after looking at the patch notes I assumed there would be a low demand for Shiz this content cycle and chose not to stock up. :P

  13. Scugger posted this as a comment but I wasn't wearing my glasses and accidentally hit Delete instead of Publish. Sorry Scugger!

"I'm not sure why you'd use up bank space on the raw zephyrite, jasper, alicite etc. those should have been transmuted into Shadowspirits or Inferno's, Demonseye or Ember topaz. the leftovers should have been made into Jewelry and DE'd and I would have prospecte all the ore or smelted it into bars prior to patch. No time for that stuff on patch days."

  14. @Scugger: I had plenty of time on Patch Day. Hell, I spent a lot of time just perusing Atlas Loot for neat stuff to transmog.

That said, I still have all of those gems save the Carnelians. Understand that most of the guild bank isn't neccesarily a "I will sell this on patch day" stock pile but is also "in case of emergencies."

The number one rule I follow is that if you have the room for it you should store everything in its most raw form; if a new use for Alicites had popped up and I'd DE'd all mine as pendants I'd be SOL. Better to have it and need to process it than not have it at all.
