Faid (+Eluniar!) on the Power Word: Gold Podcast

I was, once again, a guest host on the Power Word: Gold podcast. I don't usually make posts specifically to announce that but this one's special!  We ambushed my boyfriend to join us on the podcast this time and share with us some not-super-serious-gold-maker views about gold.  Take a listen and let me know what you think!

Also, this was the first podcast I recorded with the new headset. I kind of cringed; I thought I sounded a bit irritating, but maybe that's just me.

I've been working on a few larger posts, some about getting ready for 4.3, one about my daily routine, one about my toon/profession set-up, etc.  So look forward to lots of content soon!

PS: I didn't want to devote a whole post to this since I felt like quickly my blog was becoming a blog about the blog itself, and not about gold-making. However, since I think some people may be interested in my reasoning, I did make up a page.  In case you didn't notice there are now ads on Nerf Faids. Here's why.  If you do run an ad blocking program I humbly request that you disable it for this website to help support me in blogging, but whatever you'd like to do is fine!

  1. Fantastic to have you hosting again on the podcast.

Eluniar was fantastic, he sounds like a keeper. ;) I've got a whole bunch of blackened dragonscale, and based on his recommendation I'm going to grab a whole bunch more (even a stupidly large stockpile will be used up on leg patches over the course of 4.3 in any case).

I did have a chuckle at the timing of recording the podcast, introducing ads onto your blog, and then listening the podcast regarding monetising blogs. It also mentions no ads in your manifesto, so a quick edit will fix that right up. ;)

I think that having ads on your site is a fantastic thing, Faid. They are unobtrusive, and I doubt anyone could argue that a teeny stream of income will change your approach to blogging.

The best thing is though, removing the 'but I don't get paid' defense for writing how you write, will actually be a positive thing, and you'll become less defensive (rather than more).

I completely understand the impulse to be defensive, and can't shake it myself. Yesterday I got randomly abused in pst for my (off)spec of choice for PvE being Arms. I was sitting on my corrupted fire hawk at the time, and argued back but still ended up feeling kinda shitty. So I ended up tweeting a link to my H Baleroc first kill which demonstrates that while yes, I could have done more as fury I suppose... but I can hold my own as arms.

Long story even longer... stick to your guns with the ads, and keep the posts coming (and podcasts too please).
